Simple Bath Bombs Recipe - Great for Stress Relief (1)

There is something about these bath and body products with their sweet smells that just makes me swoon. I love all of them, just not their price tag. I have really been leaning toward making more of my own products at home for several reasons including price, and knowing what is in them. This Simple Bath Bombs Recipe is a great place to get started making your own bath bombs. I love it because you can customize the scents, color, size and more to make them work for you! There is nothing more stress relieving than relaxing in a bath with your favorite bath bomb after a long day!

Bath Bomb Supplies

To make these Bath Bombs you are going to need a few supplies. The most important are the Bath Bomb molds. If you don’t care about the shape of your bath bomb you can make these in any ice cube tray or silicone mold.

You will also need

  • Cornstarch
  • Citric Acid
  • Epsom Salt
  • Baking Soda
  • Essential Oils (of your choice)
  • Coconut Oil
  • Mica Dye (if desired)

Everything in this list is found easily at your local store. The mica dye can be ordered online or picked up at a local craft store.

How to Make Bath Bombs

In a bowl you are going to mix all of the dry ingredients. Give them a stir to make sure they are blended well. In another bowl mix together your wet ingredients.

VERY SLOWLYadd the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. You want to limit fizzing as much as possible. You are looking for the mixture to resemble wet sand.

Immediately transfer the mixture to your bath bomb mold. You want to really pack it in there. Pressing and twisting until it closes, or if you are using another type of mold you want a densely packed fill. Allow the bombs to rest for at least 24 hours to dry.

Tap the outside of your mold gently to release your bath bomb when dry. Store them in an airtight container until ready to use.

Choosing Essential Oils

When it comes to bath bombs there are no wrong essential oils. You can pick whichever scents you find pleasant. Here are some of my suggestions. Feel free to mix and match them as well. Make your own blends.

  • Lavender (Calming, Soothing, and Helps Relax)
  • Eucalyptus (Helps open up pores, and helps with breathing. Great for colds)
  • Orange (Sweet scent that helps rejuvenate. Gives a little burst of joy.)
  • Tea Tree (Helps soothe skin. Great for any skin irritations)

Storing

You should use your Bath bombs within about 6 months. Keep themstored in a moisture-free clear glass jar, or seal them in an air tight container
