They do not cover all of my teeth surface. The tray only comes up between 1/2 to 3/4 up on the center two top teeth. Bottoms do not cover all of my bottom teeth either. He said that entire tooth does not need to be covered because bleach soaks in tooth and spreads. He said the gel whitens entire tooth even though gel is not placed on entire tooth. Please help. Is this correct? Also seem to fit so snug and tight that I can barely take them out.3 EXPERT ANSWERS

I salivate a lot at night, and my teeth are whitening unevenly. Has my dentist given be bad whitening trays?I started whitening my teeth using day white. Of course I got sensitivity with my teeth and gums. The problem is now I have finished my teeth arent really any whiter and my gums look as if they are receding. How long will the pain and sensitivity last after teeth whitening with at home trays purchased from the dentist?I used an at home whitening kit from the dentist 5 weeks ago, and I have been experiencing considerable sensitivity in my top teeth ever since. One tooth aches constantly, and all teeth are set off by cold water and air. I am using sensitive toothpaste, a soft toothbrush, MI paste in my trays daily, and fluoride mouthwash, not to mention various painkillers. I used Philips night white. It burned my gums, they swelled 2.5 years ago. The swelling never went down. Why?Have 16 crowns, 6 veneers; used Philips NiteWhite (22%) 1 time, 3 years ago (2014) (used several times previously w/ no prob,); trays removed next am, whitening leaked, swollen gums; 2.5 yrs, later, swelling never went down or changed to this day. My dentist used a laser to remove 100% bacteria, nothing; 2 periodontist visits and they couldn't figure it out. I have no pockets, my measurements are fine. Will the whitening process be compromised on the areas that aren't covered by the trays?I went today to pick up my teeth whitening trays. When I got home I realized the top tray doesn't fully cover the two front teeth by a significant amount. The dental assistant checked them before I walked out and didn't notice a problem. My dentist gave me a tube of poladay CP 35% tooth whitening gel with my Invisalign trays. Is bleaching my teeth once a month OK?My dentist said to use the gel as often as I see fit. My teeth are dramatically whiter for the first few days, then gradually lose their whiteness over the next few weeks.
